Lets get down to the business of today.

Often, skillful workers are often highly valuable. What are some of the qualities and skills that employers appreciate in their workers? As a friend of mine who is a director of human resources for an organization that has 700 workers, told me!: “What we value in an employee is his ability to work harmoniously with others and effectively communicate well.” In this post we will be talking about practical tips that can help you improve in these skills, thus increasing your chance of keeping your job.

Communicate Effectively

Communicate Effectively
As research have shown, the work of an effective communicator begins before he opens his mouth. So it good to, be fast at hearing but then slow about speaking. Why is this good and important advice? Because when anyone is replying to a matter before he hears it correctly, that can make one to appear foolish and then humiliated. Indeed, listening closely to your employer and to your fellow workers can prevent misunderstandings and keep you from making foolish mistakes that you will later regret.

When you speak, the way you do so is also important. If you speak very clearly and with sufficient volume, you will be more likely understood clearly by others, and this will heighten your listener’s respect for you and for what you say. It a surprising thing about how many people lose their jobs, not because of lack of technical skill, but because they lack the ability to  effectively communicate, so do not fall in to this deadly trap. Do your best to listen fast as you can and slow to speak, this will help you to compose your thinking and then bring out good things to your listeners.

Work Well With Others

Work Well With Others
In view of the amount of time you spend with workmates, you will no doubt get to know them quite well. As a result of that, you might be tempted to gossip about them, highlighting their mistakes and shortcomings all over the place. The advice here, however, is to try as hard as you can to make it your aim to live quietly and to mind your own business. By doing this, you will do yourself a lot of good by avoiding a reputation of a busybody. Moreover, you will avoid wasting time and causing needless friction with your workmates.

When you are asked by your employee to perform a task, always keep in mind this simple and wise counsel: If someone under authority impresses you into service for a mile, go with him two miles.Hope you understand the underling principle of this word and how you can applies it in the workplace. If you gain a reputation as a hard worker, person who will go the extra mile then your chance of keeping your job will likely increase and your employee and fellow workers will love you for that. Of course, there will always be limit to what your employer can rightly ask of you.

Be Honest

Be Honest
As a survey of more than 1,400 firms revealed, that the majority of employers ranked honesty and integrity as qualities that impress them most in job candidates. As we all know, being honest involves not stealing money or materials from your employer but it also involve more then that. It also means not stealing time. A study conducted by an agency comes out with the fact that time theft amounted to an average of 4 hours and 15 minutes per employee each week. Among other things, these time thieves were habitually late comers, left work early, and socialized with other employees while at work. Does that sound like you?

The advises here is not to steal time or materials things rather hard work is what is needed, In addition, be obedient and honest in everything to those who are your bosses, keep in mind that not with acts of eye service, because that wouldn't do you any good but with sincerity of heart because that will build your integrity and reputation. If you have a reputation for working well—even when you are not supervised—you are an employee to be trusted believe it or not. Even if anything happens in your company tomorrow you will be in the keep list.
